Riptide Issue #182...

... was very kind to me! Along with the Grand Flavour/Ben Player Advert, I managed to snavel the contents page image of Jake Stone, a double of Chad Jackson and a couple of snaps of local lads Adam Luehman, Lewy Finnegan and Matt Purnell! Good, good times!

... Open up the latest issue of Movement Bodyboard Magazine (36) and on the inside cover you will see an image that VS Bodyboards have used for an ad! I love getting to shoot with Jake Stone, he's as unpredictable in the water as he is out of it! Check it out!

The Big Wigs...

... are all in town for the 2nd event on the IBA's world tour, The Box Comp. I had the chance to hook up with the likes of Hubb, BP, Amaury Lavernhe, Hardy, Jackson and Hughes for a few shots just south of Perth on the weekend. While I can't show you the best of the day, you have to trust me when i tell you these guys are all in fine form for the comp! Good luck especially to the West Ozzies!

Jakey Stoner...

... is on a roll! In fact he could have the midas touch. The kid has been ripping of late. A couple of weeks back, he comes in from a surf and says "Maxi, did you get any shots that are ad worthy? VS are chasing one!" I looked at him and replied "not really, but we could go get one?" With his usual enthusiasm he agrees and we hit the water to see if we can squeeze anything out of the dropping swell and suss wind.

Within 5 minutes of swimming, we lined up on the cleanest pit of the day and had shot a double page ad for his board sponsor.

Since then he's announced the release of his new vid Blow Up and he's taken out the first comp of the Aussie Tour!

I'm not a betting man, but he's paying $15 to win the Box Comp. Given his form, and his double roll ability, he's the perfect smokey for the event!

If At First You Don't Succeed...

... you try and try again! So that's what we'll do!

Hard Act To Follow...

As mentioned in a previous post, Ryan Hardy is next level. I and a handful of others were on hand to witness Ryan paddle into waves at "The Right" that previously were thought to only be surfable with the aid of a jetski. The amazing thing was not only that he was able to conquer these waves with a set of fins and leg power, but it was the fact that he paddled through 8-10ft beachbreaks to an outer reef break he'd never surfed before in the pitch black. UGLI 002...

The second UGLI installment is a reverse bash of Jake Stone's from Canggu in Bali late last year, there's a heap from this trip that'll you'll see on this blog!
