Riptide Issue #182...

... was very kind to me! Along with the Grand Flavour/Ben Player Advert, I managed to snavel the contents page image of Jake Stone, a double of Chad Jackson and a couple of snaps of local lads Adam Luehman, Lewy Finnegan and Matt Purnell! Good, good times!

Encapsulated...

... is a word that could be used to describe the feeling of being surrounded by a tube of water, but without the feeling of being cramped or claustrophobic! A sneaky weekend mission to a down south beach break allowed a couple of guys to get encapsulated beyond belief! Here are a couple of out takes... 

Got Fins...

... Will Swim! Fully Rad Brad and Must Pose Hose showed the world that bodysurfing is the new black! Can't ever remember swimming down south at the end of March in Boardies, but we did! The boys put on a show, and if there was such a magazine as Bodysurfers Journal, I would have absolutely cleaned up!

Magical Day's...

... are few and far between and often unexpected. Myself and my good mate House had such a day a couple of months back! The amazing thing is that we had been swimming at this beach for nearly 2 hrs with no result, then within 20 mins, we scored the below 3 shots! Epic!!

Not to Worry...

... whilst we were casually skimming rocks, sipping mochas, swapping jokes and checking waves that don't really exist, rumour has it that an old favourite wave of mine was producing the goods. Oh well, at least the company was A+. Backshall and Hose below enjoying life.

Relentless Heat...

Perth has been sweltering, 5 days of 37 degrees plus. The only relief has been the ocean, which I hit late this afternoon with my good mate Hose. He has his bucks party and wedding within the next 3 weeks, which begs the question, who is sweating more, the people of Perth or him?

Afternoon Delight

The all day offshores in Perth are few and far between, they're even rarer when there's swell! Late yesterday afternoon was fun but inconsistent. Matt "Hose" Purnell and myself enjoyed a little refresher before the onshores set in for the next week!

Swell... but no Waves!

Once again, it should have been good, but it wasn't. Perfect winds, a heap of swell but only fat straight waves on offer on the metro coast. Hopefully the fronts due this weekend stir things up a little! Matt Purnell and Luke Campbell finding a little solitude below!

Surf - French Connection

With expectations of epic conditions I met my 2 French friends Hose and Guido at one of Perth's better beaches. It was a long wait between sets, but when the surfaced, they were well worth the wait! The boys looked right at home even though they are so very far away!
